Analytics are on by default. YoreWhere collects general information about visits, interactions, devices, and site performance so we can understand how the game is used and improve it. This may include information that helps recognize a browser across visits. You can turn future browser analytics off below.
YoreWhere collects information about gameplay, feature use, reliability, and errors to operate and improve the service. Activity may be linked to your account when you are signed in. These necessary service records continue if browser analytics are turned off.
YoreWhere saves progress, preferences, and access information on your device so features work between visits. Analytics may also use browser storage to recognize a returning browser. Clearing YoreWhere site data removes information held in that browser.
If you choose Google sign-in, the sign-in provider processes the information needed to verify you. YoreWhere stores your account identity, email address, display name, game history, atlas progress, and statistics. Your site activity may be associated with your account. YoreWhere does not receive your Google password.
Teachers can create a room without an account and receive a private host key saved in their browser. Students join using a display name. YoreWhere stores the room, names, game sessions, and scores so the activity works. Rooms stop accepting activity after 24 hours; related records are not automatically deleted at that moment and may remain until operational cleanup or a valid deletion request. Use nicknames, not students' real names or email addresses.
When you contact YoreWhere or submit feedback, we store what you provide along with limited context needed to understand and respond to it. Avoid including passwords, access details, or other sensitive information.
Leaderboard submissions use the display name you type after completing a game. Those names and scores are public. Do not enter personal information you do not want shown publicly.
Interactive maps load map tiles from third-party map providers. Those providers receive the network information normally sent when your browser requests an image, such as your IP address and browser details. Do not use the map to submit a home address or other sensitive location.
YoreWhere stores gameplay and competition records so games, challenges, multiplayer, leaderboards, and progress features work and can be improved. Signed-in activity is connected to your profile; unsigned activity may remain associated with a browser or game identifier.
Analytics start automatically. Turning them off stops future browser analytics on this device. It does not remove information already collected or stop the records YoreWhere needs to operate, secure, and improve the service.

Avoid sensitive information in public names or feedback. Classroom hosts should follow school or district policy and obtain any consent their laws require before using YoreWhere with students. Use the contact form to ask about, correct, or request deletion of information tied to a profile, room, or message; YoreWhere may need enough detail to verify the request. Privacy requirements vary by location, so this page does not claim that classroom use is automatically compliant with every school or child-privacy law.
